Hi, I’m Lymos McDonald, your candidate for Colbert County Superintendent.

I have enjoyed a rewarding career in education for over three decades. My wife, also an educator, and I have championed not only for our children to be successful, but for countless others. Serving as an educator, administrator, coach and advocate has not just been a career, but a calling. I am committed to give our students the best education and experiences we can give. 

EXPERIENCED

For the past 34 years, I have enjoyed the most rewarding career in education. It has been grounded in personal and academic integrity, striving for excellence with every new challenge. As a family man, I have cared for and pushed our students as if they are my own - educating and mentoring them to make an impactful and lasting difference in their lives.

ENGAGED

If I can help just one, then my living is not in vain. Being relatable and accessible to students is very important. One of the most vital relationships they can have is the one with a trusting school official. Each day, I make it a priority to walk alongside them, hear their plights, and entertain their dreams and visions. I support them by simply showing up, whether it’s an academic activity or community involvement.

ENCOURAGING

Over my career, I have served as a coach, teacher, principal, and administrator. No matter the position, one thing has been consistent – my students know they can count on me. They affectionately call me ‘Coach’, because whether it’s  with a whistle on the field, a book in the classroom or pen to paper in the office, I’m always pushing for them to win.
